The one thing you MUST have when starting a business…

The best advice I could give anyone that is starting new – no matter what it is,

Surround yourself with people who will speak positively into your life.

If you’re at all like me, I thrive on words of encouragement. I know that’s a love language, maybe it’s not yours, but I’d like to meet a person who doesn’t get a lift out of someone giving them a verbal boost.

Starting a business or something new can be daunting on the best days. Everyone struggles, in some way or another, with self-doubt. A positive word can make all the difference. Most often we have all the answers we need, but that word of encouragement might just confirm what you’re thinking and help get you over the line for making a good decision.

I so needed the encouragement of friends and family on my road to launch. I would never have made it without it.

They couldn’t do it for me, no one had money to give me, but they believed in me, and that helped me believe in myself.

I remember when I was hoping to make a change in my life and the friends I had at the time were super negative about our prospects. I made the difficult decision to move away from my friends. I had hope for this situation, and though it seemed like a long shot I knew that their negativity was going to drag me down. 

You’ll hear me talk about this a lot because I know how powerful it is to have that support.
